My take on a deconstructed, minimalist Christmas tree that uses a lot of bridging! While bridges are a critical part of many prints in overhangs, for example, they can also be used to stretch the limits of a 3D printer’s capabilities in artistic prints. There are two bridging techniques that I employed in this model. The first is a simple horizontal point-to-point line, which results in a single strand of plastic bridging the two points. The second, which was more experimental for me, is the loops on the tree trunk that are made with a curved bridge that will droop down as it’s printed, giving an interesting texture and depth to the surface.
