This Honeycomb / hex-themed decorative desk companion is a spin-off from a much older design of mine, also featured in this portfolio. The challenge I undertook with this redesign was to make it printable in vase mode, which utilizes a continuous string of filament with no retractions and seam. It took careful consideration to ensure each layer was a single perimeter, especially with the hex patterned pencil holders. The resulting model includes a lot of little artifacts of the vase mode design, making it a fascinating addition to any desk.
